The Brooklyn Nets moved to within 2 games of .500 as they handed the Denver Nuggets their 4th straight loss.  Paul Pierce’s 18 points was good enough for a game-high.  The Milwaukee Bucks put up a fight against the Indiana Pacers, but were not able to secure a victory.  Roy Hibbert posted game highs in points and rebounds.  The Miami Heat secured a .500 season with their 41st win of the year, coming at the expense of the New York Knicks.  LeBron James scored a game-high 31 points to top Carmelo Anthony’s 29.  This marked James’s 5th sstraight game with 30 or more points.  Tyson Chandler hauled in 16 rebounds, which led all players last night. And in the final game of the evening, fans in Toronto were given a little extra basketball for their dollar as the Raptors and the Wizards went into triple overtime.  The home team was unable to pull the win off, but there was some very entertaining basketball.  DeMar DeRozen posted an evening-high 34 points, Kyle Lowry was a rebound short of a triple-double, John Wall and Marcin Gortat both broke the 30 point mark, and every member of the Wizard’s starting front court posted double-doubles.

Marcin Gortat decided to celebrate Paczki day by posting team highs in points, rebounds and blocks.

A close call tonight.  LeBron James scored 30+ again with amazing efficiency, hitting 13 of 19 shots, but his assist and rebounding numbers were meager compared to most.  DeMar DeRozen led all scorers, but he took 4 more shots than James and only scored 3 more points, and though he had more assists, he also played in three overtime period to get those assists.  John Wall scored 31, equaling James’s total with only one more shot, and also racking up more steals, blocks and assists than James, while teammate also scored 31 points, a career high for Gortat, and threw in 12 rebounds and 4 blocks.  This is a little too tight to call, so I’m going to let teammates John Wall and Marcin Gortat share Line of the Night honours.
