Line Of the Night: December 12th

LMA continues his big for MVP with a huge game against the Rockets.

LMA continues his big for MVP with a huge game against the Rockets.

Portland faced the Houston Rockets last night and took full advantage of their opportunity to avenge a loss to the Rockets earlier this season.  Despite James Harden having a solid all-around game and Dwight Howard going into full beast mode on the glass and providing the solid defense, the Blazers were able to topple the Rockets behind one of the best performances of the season, provided by LaMarcus Aldridge: 32 points and an NBA season-high 25 rebounds.  Oh, if only Brandon Roy and Greg Oden could have stayed healthy and reached their full potential. With Lillard and Batum, this roster would have been historic!  In the other big match-up of the evening, the two best point guards from the 2005 NBA draft went head-to-head last night as the Clippers visited the Nets in Brooklyn.  Surprisingly, the Nets came out on top.  Blake Griffin shot an underwhelming 2/8 from the floor, whilst Chris Paul produced what may have been a career low in assists after handing out only two dimes.  DeAndre Jordan record a game-high 1 block?  It was the only block of the game.  Andray Blatche came off the bench to score 21 points on 7/11 shooting.

Dwight Howard put up MVP numbers himself last night.

My pick for Line of the Night goes to LaMarcus Aldridge.  On any other night, Dwight Howard would have surely been award the LOTN, but 25 rebounds?  Nobody has grabbed more rebounds in a game this season than Aldridge.  His 31 points, 2 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks is just icing on the cake.
