Not only is Kevin Durant’s streak of games with 25+ points still alive, but he also record another 40+ points game, posting an evening-high 43 points.  But the Thunder ultimately lost in overtime to the Dallas Mavericks who got a team-high 32 points from Dirk Nowitzki.  Carmelo Anthony posted a game-high 29 points for New York, but the Lakers trounced the Knicks 127-96, beating them by more than 30 points despite the fact that the Lakers were without Paul Gasol, Steve Nash and Kobe Bryant.  The Portland Trailblazers got a 20/10 game out of Robin Lopez, but the Magic trumped that with 20/10 games from both Tobias Harris and Nikola Vucevic, ultimately beating the Trailblazers who are still without All-Star forward LaMarcus Aldridge.  And finally, the Cavaliers got solid games from both Dion Waiters and Luol Deng to top the Raptors who got a 20/10 game from Kyle Lowry.

I’m very tempted to pick Dirk Nowitzki for Line of the Night.  Hi FG% was slightly under .500, but he posted the only 30/10 game of the evening and also contributed 4 steals and a block, solid defensive stats.  And Dirk also earned the win over the other contender for Line of the Night: Kevin Durant.  But those points aside, I cannot simply cast away Durant’s impressive FG% on a high volume of shots (15/27), and his 42 points, even if his all-around numbers are a little less than Dirk’s.  So Durant gets Line of the Night, but high praise goes to Dirk as well.
