Kevin Love was a single assist shy of a triple-double again, and posted a game-highs in points (36), rebounds (14) and assists (9), but his MVP effort was not enough to lift the Timberwolves past the Suns.  Markieff Morris came off the bench to lead the Suns in scoring and rebounding and lift them to the win.  Jonas Valaniunas posted a double-double and Kyle Lowry posted a game-high 25 points.  John Wall had a disastrous night with the ball, committing 8 turnovers as the Washington Wizards watched a game slip away to the Denver Nuggets.  Bradly Beal scored 21, the top number for the game, while Marcin Gortat led his team in rebounding, assists and blocks.  Only one member of the Bucks’ starting line-up manage to break double-digits as the Kings managed to shut them down while running up the scoreboard themselves.  Rudy Gay managed 24 points for the Kings, while Isaiah Thomas and DeMarcus Cousins posted a combined 62 points in the win.  Jordan Hill had a career night for the Lakers as he posted a game-high 28 points and 13 rebounds, leading the Lakers to a win over the Orlando Magic.  Jarrett Jack also had a career evening, posted a 30/10 game for the Cavs and leading them to a win over the Knicks, snapping New York’s winning streak in the process.  Carmelo Anthony posted a game-high 32 points in the loss.  And finally, Jason Kidd coached his current team to a win over the team he was both drafted by and earned his only championship with, a fitting birthday celebration for the rookie coach.  The Nets relied on a balanced team effort, while the Mavs got a game-high 32 points from Monta Ellis.

Some solid performances all around, but Kevin Love, Jarret Jack, and DeMarcus Cousins clearly stand out above the rest.  Though Love scored more than either Cousins of Jack, he also shot at a lower percentage.  That said, he also hauled in more rebounds than either and contributed 9 assists, one less than Jack and 5 more than Cousins, while he defensive stats respectable, even if Cousins slightly out did Love.  Despite his sub-par shooting performance, I think Love is the clear choice for Line of the Night.  His stellar rebounding and playmaking more than make up for a slightly off night from the field.  Honourable mention goes to Isaiah Thomas, whose performance wasn’t far behind these guys, and Jordan Hill, who demonstrate what kind of numbers he is capable of putting up in the right situation.
