Kevin Love’s streak of 30+ point games came to an end last night, but the Timberwolves still managed a win, bringing the team back up to .500 for the first time in a few weeks, and keeping them in the playoff hunt as the Timberwolves beat the Kings.  DeMarcus Cousins, who had just returned from serving a one-game suspension, posted 21 points and 17 rebounds, but it simply was not enough for the Kings.  LeBron James posted a near triple-double and shot a very efficient 8/12 from the floor to help the Heat win the Florida cup as Miami squared off against Orlando.  Trevor Ariza posted an evening-high 40 points, which is also Ariza’s career-high, and teammate John Wall led all players with 16 assists as the Wizards beat the 76ers, spoiling the retirement ceremony for Allen Iverson.

Andre Drummond did a much better job of containing Dwight Howard than he did in their last match up, hold Howard to 17 points and out rebounding him 17-8.

Andre Drummond must have learned something from Dwight Howard during their last match-up, because Dwight was unable to dominate the sophomore as he did earlier in the season, but Drummond’s improved play against Howard was not enough to earn the Pistons a victory as the Rockets won: 118-110.  Larry Bird’s current team beat his former team as the Pacers topped the Celtics.  The Brooklyn Nets managed a win over the Milwaukee Bucks.  Both teams relied on a team effort.  Zach Randolph led the Grizzlies in points, rebounds and steals as they topped the Cavaliers.  Kyrie Irving scored a game-high 28, but was unable to repeat last game’s triple-double. The Nuggets, depleted by injury, continued their struggles as they dropped a game to the Portland Trailblazers.  LaMarcus Aldridge was back in the line-up to give the Blazers a boost.  And finally, six players on the Pelicans roster when a combine 3-39, making it next to impossible to compete against the Clippers, who took the game with relative ease.  Doc Rivers pulled his starters out early and let the bench get some minutes.

Zach Randolph posted team highs in points, rebounds and steals to help lead the Grizzlies past the Cavs.

Some good performances last night.  LeBron James had solid all-around numbers and an evening-high 4 steals, and Kevin Love came away with a near triple-double.  John Wall set the benchmarks for assists last night, while Andre Drummond and DeMarcus Cousins both hauled in an impressive 17 rebounds.  And Zach Randolph matched Lebron’s total for steals, while exceeding him in rebounds and points.  LeBron and Randolph weren’t the only ones to nab 4 steals. Trevor Ariza did as well, and though he didn’t get as many assists or rebounds as Lebron or Randolph, he did post an evening-high 40 points, literally doubling LeBron’s total.  I would have liked to see more assists and rebounds from Ariza, who normally puts up solid all-around numbers, but his point total this evening is enough to earn him Line of the Night honours.

LBJ's black mask was apparently too cool for the NBA, as the league threatened a fine unless James wore a translucent mask. But that didn't stop him from leading the Heat to a win.

The NBA threatened LBJ with a fine if he wore his black mask again.  Seriously?  First the fine Jordan because there is no white in his shoe, then they want to fine LBJ because there is black in his mask?  RACISM!
