Line of the Night: 12.23.13

With Tyson Chandler back in the lineup, the New York Knicks are slowly trying to find their way back to .500 and make one step in that direction last night with a win over the Orlando Magic.  Aaron Affalo posted a game-high 26 points and Jameer Nelson posted a near triple-double.  The Pistons bounced back from a disappointing loss to the Rockets with a win over the Cavs.  Greg Monroe and Andrew Drummond both posted double-doubles with a game high 11 rebounds to each of them, whilst Brandon Jennings had a great game, posting a game-high 13 assists. Josh Smith posted 25 points to lead all scored in the game.  Bucks point guard Brandon Knight posted a bear triple-double, but ti was not enough as they fell to the Bobcats by the narrowest of margins.  Kemba Walker also finished with a near triple-double, coming up 1 rebound short.  Lance Stephenson and Paul George split 52 points evenly amongst themselves as they led the Pacers past the struggling Nets.  Dallas went up against a short-handed Houston Rockets team and managed a win despite an MVP performance from Dwight Howard.  Atlanta took Miami to overtime, but were not able to overcome and epic, 38-point performance from LeBron James.  Ray Allen got 34 minutes and was playing like his 20-something self, going 7/10 from the floor.  Shooting guard Gordon Hayward posted a near triple-double as well, but the Grizzlies had little problem dispatching the Utah Jazz.Zach Randolph got, what I think may be a career high, 7 assists as he led the Grizzlies in points, rebounds and assists.  The Spurs bounced back from a loss against the Thunder with a win over the Raptors, who had just beat the Thunder.  Tony Parker had a game-high 26 points.  David Lee posted a 20/10 game to lead the Warriors past the Nugger: 89-81.  Steve Nash was still on the sidelines with an injury as his former team defeated his current.  Gerald Green posted a game-high 22 points off the bench and Mile Plumlee posted a 20/10 game the hard way: with 20 rebounds.  And Tyreke Evans came off the bench to post a 20/10 game against his former team as the Pelicans earned a victory over the Kings.

The Rockets were without James Harden and loss, but Dwight Howard game them another MVP performance.

A touch call tonight with several players posting near triple-doubles, and many of them scoring 20+ points.  Brandon Knight had a big game, as did Kemba Walker, while Dwight Howard had a big night on the glass.  I’m going with LeBron James for Line of the Night though.  He posted an evening-high 38 points, which nobody else was close to touching, and had a solid, all-around game (8 rebounds and 6 assists), not to mention a high field-goal percentage.
