Saturday night’s main even featured a match-up between the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets.  Both teams put their perfect record on the line in this highly anticipated match-up, and it was the Warriors who came away with the win behind a 30/10 game from Stephen Curry, and 18 rebounds from Andrew Bogut.  Dwight Howard missed the game with ‘flu like symptoms’ and James Harden failed to pick up the slack, missing 16 shots and turning the ball over 5 times.  The only remaining undefeated team in the league was the Memphis Grizzlies, but they dropped a game to the Bucks by the narrowest of margins, leaving the Warriors in sole possession of the league’s best record.  Zach Randolph recorded game-highs in points and rebounds in the loss.  The Spurs got double-doubles from MVPs Kawhi Leonard and Tim Duncan and a game-high 28 points from Tony Parker, but ended up dropping their home game to the visiting New Orleans Pelicans.  Anthony Davis led the way for the Pelicans with team highs in points, rebound, steals and blocks.  The defending champions are now a game under .500.

Boston surprised the Bulls in Chicago, despite a 28-point performance from Aarn Brooks off the bench.  Kelly Olynky posted a double-double for the Celtic, while both Rajon Rondo and Derrick Rose missed the game.  The Timberwolves got a double-double from Nikola Pekovic, but it was not enough to top the Miami Heat as Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade combined for nearly 50 points.  Kyle Korver shot the lights out for the Hawks who handed the Knicks their 5th loss of the season.  The Washington Wizards continued their winning ways, getting a balanced team effort to top the Indiana Pacers. Small forward Solomon Hill had a career night for the Pacers, scoring a game and career-high 28 points in the loss.  And in the final game of the evening, the Los Angeles Clippers weathered and All-Star performance from Damian Lillard, getting 20 or more points from four starters including a game-high 30 from J.J. Redick.  Chris Paul recorded a double-double in the win, handing out 11 assists.

Stephen Curry had an exceptional shooting night and also had a strong showing on the glass, and what makes his performance especially impressive is the fact that the Warriors were playing one of the only other undefeated teams in the league.  Granted, Dwight Howard missed the game, but so too did David Lee.  Curry rose to the occasion in dramatic fashion, offering and MVP performance; however, I’m going to have to go with Anthony Davis for Line of the Night.  He was three points shy of Curry’s point total with one less shot, and got more rebounds. He also managed to get to the line more, but what is even more impressive than that what his shear dominance on the defensive end.  Not only did Davis get 6 blocks, but he also grabbed 4 steals to go along with it.  What may be most impressive about this is the fact that he only committed 2 fouls!  For his exceptional offensive game and his shear dominance on the defensive end, I have to say that Davis is the clear-cut choice for LOTN.  Honourable mention goes to Chris Paul, Aaron Brooks, J.J. Redcik and Kyle Korver.
