The Denver Nuggets are back to .500 and have won three in a row after having lost eight straight.  The Boston Celtics were handed their fifth straight loss by the Nuggets.  Damian Lillard posted a career-high 41 points for the Trailblazers, but it was not enough to overcome to 30+ point games from Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins as the Kings earned win over one of the best teams in the league.  Kevin Durant match the NBA season-high 48 points, which he set just two games prior, but it was not enough as the Jazz surprised the Thunder: 112-101.  Gordon Hayward scored a career-high 37 points in the win for the Jazz.  Carmelo Anthony posted a game-high 34 points as the Knicks beat the struggling Pistons, who lost their 5th straight.  Andre Drummond grabbed a game-high 17 rebounds.  The Warriors earned their 10th straight victory over the Buck.  David Lee posted a game-high 22 points and an evening-high 18 rebounds.  The Heat host the Pelicans and won relatively easily: 107-88.  LeBron James

posted a game-high 32 points and Dwyane Wade nearly posted a triple-double.  They needed overtime to do it, but the Spurs beat the Grizzlies: 110-108.  Mike Conley posted a game-high 30 points while Tim Duncan nearly set a new record for oldest player to post a 20/20 game, but was 3 boards short.  Lance Stephenson was 2 assists short of another triple-double as the Pacers beat the Raptors.  Jodi Meeks and Pau Gasol had solid all-around games for the Lakers, but it was not enough as the Mavericks won the game behind Dirk Nowitzki’s game-high 27 points.  Monta Ellis and Jose Calderon both posted an evening-high 5 steals.  Tristan Thompson and Anderson Varejao provided double-doubles, and C.J. Miles posted a game-high 34 points as the Cavaliers beat the 76ers.  The Bulls managed a win over the Suns, despite the absence of Luol Deng, and the Wizards beat the Bobcats: 97-83.

Ten players score 30+ points last night, and two scored 40+ points, so there is a lot to choose from.  For me it comes down to Kevin Durant and Gordon Hayward.  It is hard to ignore 48 points, but Durant did miss 20 shots and shot well under .500 from the floor to get that 48 points, though his ability to get to the line still allowed him to score 48 points despite taking only 34 shots. Hayward, though, only took 16 shots and hit 13 of them.  Coupled with that, he out-rebounded Durant (11-7), and got more assists (7-5).  Durant, though, got double the blocks (2-1) and a steals (4-2).  The FG% is a stark contrast though, so I think I’ll have to go with Gordon Hayward for Line of the Night, though anybody who picks Kevin Durant has a legit argument.
