Veteran point guard Andre Miller did not play for the Nuggets as he was suspended for conduct detrimental to the team (I assume this does not mean he was sleeping with a coach’s wife), and during the first game of his two-game suspension, Miller’s teammates broke the team’s eight-game losing streak.  Ty Lawson led the way for the Nuggets with 18 points and 12 assists, whilst Zach Randolph posted a game-high 25 points.  The Clippers visited the Dallas Mavericks and came away with a win behind 20/10 games from Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan.  Chris Paul went down with a shoulder injury in the game and may miss 6 weeks.  James Harden posted an evening-high 37 points to lead the Rockets past the visiting Knicks.  Chandler Parsons kicked in a double-double to help ease the burden.  The Pelicans put down the Celtics to pull within one game of .500, spoiling double-doubles from both Jarred Sullinger and Brandon Bass.  The Warriors travelled to Atlanta after their win over the Heat, and won by the narrowest of margins: 101-100.  Stephen Curry, David Lee and Klay Thompson all posted 20+ points, and Curry nearly added another triple-double to his resume and posted an impressive 5 steals.  The Raptors beat the Wizards and they reached the .500 plateau in January for the first time since 2010.  Kyle Lowry posted a double-double for the Raptors in the win.  And, finally, the Lakers beat the Jazz behind stellar games from Pau Gasol and and some guy named Kendall Marshall (?) who got called up from the D-League and had a career night (15 assists and only 1 turnover).

Not only did Pau Gasol nearly posted a 20/20 game, he almost posted a triple-double as well.

Some solid numbers across the board here.  Harden’s scoring output was impressive, but though his all-around game was good, it didn’t match up with the likes of Gasol and Curry.  Curry’s turnovers hold him back a little (9 turnovers is a bit much), and Jordan’s rebounding and percentage are both insanely high, but I have to go with Gasol for Line of the Night.  He may have gotten one less buck and one less rebound, but his 8 assists puts him near a triple-double and equated to 16+ points that he help his team throw up on the score board.  And an honourable mention to Kendall Marhsall.  I’ve never heard of the kid before, but apparently he spent last season with the Suns and played sparingly.  The Lakers are hard up for a point guard, and they gave this guy a shot and he answered the call last night.  I’m not a Lakers fan, but I’d love to see this kid keep this level of play up.  15 assists and only 1 turnover?  AMAZING!
