Line of the Night: 1.1.14/New Year’s Day Edition

Chris Paul and Blake Griffin posted double-doubles lifting the Clippers past the Bobcats.

Chris Paul and Blake Griffin posted double-doubles lifting the Clippers past the Bobcats.

The Clippers made short work of the visiting Bobcats as Blake Griffin posted a 30/10 game and Chris Paul chipped in a game-high 14 assists.   Denver lost their 8th straight game, falling the lowly 76ers.  The Pelicans and the T-Wolves had a shoot-out with the Wolves coming out on top.  Kevin Love’s streak of consecutive double-doubles was cut short in the victory.  Ricky Rubio posted a near triple-double in the win.  The Pacers were surprised by the Raptors in Toronto, losing to the NBA’s only Canadian club: 95-82.  And the Dallas Mavericks earned a ‘W’ at the expense of the Wizards.  Monta Ellis scored a game-high 32 points.

Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozen help lift the Raptors past the Pacers.

My pick for Line of the Night goes to Blake Griffin.  He was the only player to post 30 points, and he made it a double-double, while no other player last night managed a double-double with more than 17 points.  Lowry had a solid all-around game, with good defensive stats, and did Rubio, but neither scored even half of what Blake posted.
