Hansbrough Headed To Canada

Toronto Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri was looking to make some moves to put his stamp on the Raptors’ roster and has made his first move in free agency with perhaps the most subtle coup of the offseason.  Power forward Tyler Hansbrough, formerly of the Indiana Pacers, has signed a deal for approximately 3 million dollars a year (the length of the contract has not been reported).  The physically aggressive Hansbrough has earned a reputation as a gritty player and though his field goal percentage is a little on the low side, his rebounding is near double digits with starting minutes.  Picking up a double-double player for under 5 million seems like a great deal for Toronto and it is perhaps surprising that the Pacers are willing to give up their depth in the front court when they have Hansbrough’s Bird rights, but perhaps the Pacers know something Ujiri doesn’t.
