Allen Iverson recently announced his retirement amid rumours that he had secretly been retired from the NBA for three and a half years.

Allen Iverson, who seems to be unaware of the fact that he hasn’t played professional basketball in over two years, announced his retirement today.  It seems that Iverson wasn’t aware of the fact that he had already been retired by every professional basketball team in the world that wasn’t willing to offer him a contract.  When he was released by the Philadelphia 76ers, no other NBA team expressed an interested in the veteran point guard. Iverson, though, thought that he was still technically playing, despite the fact that he was not actually playing.  Eventually (over three years since his last NBA game, which was played on February 20th, 2010), Iverson finally figured out that he was no longer a professional basketball player, likely because he hadn’t received a pay check for some time, and so announced to the world that he was no longer under the delusion that he was a professional basketball player and was now aware of a fact the rest of the world had learned about over three years.  Iverson said what he likes most about retirement is not having to go to practice
